About Me

I never thought I would need couple therapy. My relationship with my wife was great. I was the managing director of a successful company. Then life got tough and we found ourselves in crisis. Going to couple therapy saved our marriage! And we’ve been in and out of therapy together many times to keep our relationship on course.

What I learned from our couple therapy and my years of one-to-one psychotherapy transformed my marriage and my life. The results of the therapy impressed me so much I decided to change career. I wanted to offer the valuable insights and knowledge I had learned to other individuals and couples in distress.

I researched, sought out and trained with the best minds in couple & relationship psychology to learn the secrets of what makes marriages and relationships work and why they go wrong.

For over a decade, I trained to become a psychotherapist specialising in relationships and couples. I also trained and accredited as a registered sex therapist because I knew that the sexual relationship is often a key part of a satisfying relationship or marriage. And I constantly train and up-date my skills beyond the requirements of my regulatory organisations to meet my desire to grow and improve in what I offer.

I have worked with various mental health conditions in a number of settings including psychosexual health at NHS Chelsea & Westminster Hospital (56 Dean Street), with personality disorders in Kent & Medway NHS Trust and multifarious relationship and mental health issues at Tavistock Relationships.

Registrations

I am registered with the General Psychotherapy Council (GPsyC), a new corporate body set up by Act of Parliament in 2020 as the regulatory body for psychotherapists to promote safe and professional practice. I am also registered and accredited to practice couple & relationship therapy and sex therapy, appearing on registers accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). The PSA was set up by the Government to improve standards and safety for the benefit of the public. Attaining the standards necessary for registration with GPsyC and PSA demonstrates my commitment to high professional standards, enhancing safety and delivering a better service.

I am also registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as well as gaining accreditation with the College of Sexual & Relationship Therapists (COSRT), the UK’s specialist regulatory body in psychosexual and relationship therapy. In addition I am also accredited by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Association of Humanistic Psychology Practitioners (UKAHPP). My practice complies with the code of conduct and ethics of all the aforementioned regulatory bodies.

I have undertaken rigorous world-class training with internationally renowned Tavistock Institute of Medical Psychology. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT) and Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). EFCT is the most researched and empirically proven evidence-based method in couple therapy. In addition, I am a trained in couples therapy with the Gottman Method and Terry Real.
